John Vanderslice @ Music Hall of Williamsburg

Northside Fest continues with some actual good music. Got to this show far too early and had to kill time by drinking Heineken, was actually kind of tossed by the time JV came on. As one of the sponsors, Heineken provides both regular Heineken and Heineken Light. The light is a damn good beer but you will be pretty pissed to know that it only contains 3.5% alcohol content -- mad weak sauce as far as beers go. I got to the show in time to see two opening acts for JV. First was this girl Ólöf Arnalds.

Next up was The Tallest Man on Earth AKA Kristian Matsson; a misleading name nevertheless since he like 5'8". Great music and I highly recommend him. Kristian is a great person to take photos of, he's got such detail and character in his face.

The above photo was my favorite picture of the night. Just great. Now onto John Vanderslice.

Speaking of Vanderslice, there is no way this is a real name. Sounds suspiciously like Kimbo Slice, which is definitely some made up shit. Vanderslice tore it up as I thought he would. Last time I saw him was a good 4 years ago when he opened for Beulah, who I sweat but is no longer together because they are grown ass men who needed to raise families.
